Admission based on academic readiness, professional experience and program fit.

Review the academic, professional and English-language requirements for admission to AMU programs.

Standard MBA entry

Applicants would normally hold a recognised bachelor-level qualification or equivalent in an appropriate field. The application should demonstrate academic readiness for postgraduate business study.

Professional or alternative entry

Where approved, applicants without a conventional bachelor qualification may be considered through a defined alternative-entry pathway based on substantial relevant managerial, professional, entrepreneurial or technical experience.

AMU may require a Graduate Certificate in Management or other preparatory study before progression to the MBA. Progression and credit follow approved rules.

Additional evidence that may be considered

  • Level and relevance of previous study
  • Managerial or professional responsibility
  • Entrepreneurial or organisational leadership experience
  • Evidence of analytical and written communication capability
  • Continuing professional development
  • Applicant’s statement of purpose and program fit
  • Interview or admissions assessment where required

Pathway suitability

Applicants should select a pathway consistent with their experience or intended development. A technical background is not necessarily required for the AI pathway because its focus is managerial and strategic; however, applicants must be prepared to engage with digital concepts. Healthcare applicants should understand that the MBA is a management qualification and does not confer clinical registration.

Credit and recognition

Credit may be considered for relevant prior formal study under AMU policy. Decisions require documentary evidence and academic equivalence. Professional experience may support admission but does not necessarily create academic credit.

Final decision

Meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee admission. AMU may consider program capacity, authenticity of evidence, academic risk and any additional requirements approved for the intake.
